MAPCO, Sevierville, Tenn. | 51st International Design Competition Winner

MAPCO, Sevierville, Tenn.
Design: Chute Gerdeman, Columbus, Ohio
Photography: Seth Parker, Nashville

MAPCO’s new 4500-sq.-ft. C-store near Pidgeon Forge was developed to shake things up, rethink the traditional, and create a fresh experience to meet customer needs. Working with Chute Gerdeman, the new MAPCO design strives to become ‘Convenience You Can Trust,’ and is mapped out to solve guest’s daily convenience needs.

Communicating new branding and identity, the space gives visitors a sense of energy and fresh air with a seamless transition that brings the interior and exterior together. Custom murals specific to the community, greenery, and natural materials deliver quality without sacrificing convenience. The location offers guest seating indoors and out, giving shoppers free rein to use MAPCO’s space.

Judges found the bold architecture, attention to detail and elevated graphic communication to be a fresh take on c-store retailing.
