About the Job:

Taco Bell has been recognized as a leading innovator in the restaurant industry and even the business world. The Global Concept Designer must be highly creative with solid design skills and an effective professional with broad retail restaurant design. The ideal designer must have international experience and demonstrate the ability to create and execute innovative design concepts and customer experiences. The individual is responsible for ideating, developing, and creating conceptual and innovative ideas as well as executing FF&E and documentation of all products for new concepts while meeting/exceeding cost savings targets.

He/She/They must be able to effectively collaborate with peers in the real estate, construction, engineering, operations and other key departments. We are looking for a knowledgeable talented multi-disciplined design professional (interior – architecture – procurement) who has the ability to balance business needs, aggressive timelines, functional goals and more while constantly pushing for high quality and standards across the system.

This is an exciting role that can evolve, that requires high accountability, a partnership mentality and a steady commitment to Brand Goals and meeting customer expectations. International experience, communication and vendor/partner management skills are critical. Additionally, the Global Concept Designer must be able to influence cross-functional business partners and effectively provide a holistic perspective to design issues.

The Day-to-Day:

Ability to create, manage and deliver against project timelines
Creation and maintenance of prototypical tools for remodels and new builds
Coordination of prototypical renderings for remodels, new builds and test projects
Archival of prototypical CD sets, tools, renderings for remodels and new builds
Maintenance of project timelines/schedules relating to prototypes and various special projects
Maintenance of prototypical construction document sets for remodels and new builds
Communication/project coordination between in-house teams, field team, external consultants and suppliers
Communicates project ideas through the use of sketches, computer design tools such as 3D modeling, AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign), Blubeam Revu
Prepare documents/decks relating to all phases of design in all manners of projects
Development & enhancement of “playbook” for both domestic and international development
Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback leveraging data to provide actionable insights and innovative solutions that balance design adherence and operational needs
Proactively suggest value engineering alternatives to optimize costs
Support and/ or manage test projects as required
Leverage technical and design skills to support projects during design, permitting and construction
Communicate effectively to drive alignment within project teams and across the organization on key milestones and decisions

Is This You?

2-4+ years of Architectural / Interior Design experience
Bachelor’s degree in the Architecture & Design field. Professional registration a plus.
In-house or acting consultant for restaurant, retail, and/or hospitality company preferred
International experience preferred
Bilingual in a second language a plus
Project management in Retail Interiors and Architecture projects a plus
Proficient in Revit or AutoCAD, Excel, Photoshop, and Sketchup
Must be a critical and creative thinker who works well as part of a team and can confidently make independent decisions
Able to multi-task, efficient and adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, both graphic and verbal
