From the International Chairman:
A special message from James Farnell, RDI, Chairman of the Retail Design Institute
Members and Friends of the Institute
I’m delighted to announce the appointment of your new International Executive Committee who officially commenced their 2016-2018 term on November 1, 2016.
Sharon Lessard, Vice President (Gensler); Jessie Sanders, Secretary (ArcVision); and Mimi Yacobucci, Treasurer (Carlson) were elected, while Andrew McQuilkin, (BHDP Architecture) and I stayed on until Claudia Cerchiara was elected President on March 27, 2017 at our Spring Board Meeting.
It has been a privilege for me to represent the Institute as International President, to further our mission and serve alongside such highly respected leaders within the Retail Design community. Along with our newly elected Chapter officers, we share a wonderful opportunity to shape the future growth of our organization and influence the Industry we represent.
Now, as International Chairman, I’m honored for this opportunity to build on the Institute’s enviable heritage and confident that the inherent desire of retail professionals to seek and embrace change will ensure we maintain our relevancy in a rapidly shifting landscape. The Institute has a powerful story to tell and our success will be measured by our ability to create a clear vision for the future, one that will keep us in step with the accelerated innovations of our Industry.
As a member of the Retail Design Institute, you are part of an incredibly resourceful group of professionals and an established organization offering increasingly diverse benefits that can enable you to succeed in the business of retail design. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities the Institute presents by engaging with your local Chapter – there’s never been a better time to get involved!
My thanks go to all of you for the contributions you make to our Industry through your creativity, passion and support of our many events and initiatives.
James Farnell, RDI
