Australia Post “Community Hub” was conceived with an ambition to create a modern Post Office that purposely fits changing community needs; a place that can belong to the future of the Australian People, inherently and genuinely.

A “love-letter” to Australian Community, the inaugural trial in Orange is a significant step-test focused on transforming the face of the Australian High Street, marking a transformative moment for Community Retail.

“Community Hub” is a place of improved convenience, conceived with dedication to help local communities thrive by creating a locally relevant, purposeful physical destination that fosters genuine connection.

The design team’s scope included Brand Strategy, Retail Design and Merchandising Strategy, Concept, Interior Design, Graphic Design (Environmental, Signage, Wayfinding and Ticketing), Mural Artwork, Own-Brand Product Design, Packaging, Stamp Design and Design Guidelines.

It’s rare to find a retailer with better locations, better logistics, or a deeper connection with their customers than Australia Post. A quiet achiever gluing Australians together, and the continent to the world.

However, as the world reinvents itself daily, now is the time to reassess Australia Post’s place in that change. Now is the time for this brand to stand strong and proud; to show that Australia Post has the enviable ability to bring the “World” to its customers and take “Local” to the world.

The design team focused on re-engineering and improving the brand-offer to better serve customers by need and location, now and in the future; driven by a desire to strengthen and to reignite pride and a sense of belonging between Australians (Crew and Customers) and the iconic brand.

The new design reflects this, responding to changing community needs to make Australia Post more vital, more relevant, more often.

Orange Community Hub reimagines Australia Post’s core product offering, refines send-and-receive, creates more 24/7 access, and hosts National Banking and Identity services.

A dynamic “Merchant Space” celebrates the brand’s essence, bringing brands in and delivering products out. A modern merchant strategy to better connect retailers (large or small) to community.

Global powerhouses like Apple are permanently curated, whilst emerging national and local businesses by Australian creators and artists are also given space, promoted, and sold via” Pop-Up-At-Post.”

In a first-of-its-kind-move, Orange Post Office tests a "changing-room" concept, making online returns both seamless and immediate, whilst also fixing a major pain-point for the fashion industry.

“Community Hub” is a Real Place for Real People. It is not disposable, or informed by trends, but rather it is designed as a place of unlimited lifespan with functional and emotional relevance.
