Event Recap: Retail Design Institute NY Chapter x PAVE: Mentoring to Shape the Future of Retail
November 2020
In recognition of the importance of our future generation of industry professionals, together with The Planning and Visual Education Partnership, (PAVE) the NY Chapter hosted a virtual portfolio review for students. Students and professors from Fashion Institute of Technology, New York School of Interior Design, Appalachian State University and Howard University were represented. Following a presentation about the retail design industry, students were placed in small virtual groups with Institute member mentors to review and discuss their work and gain further insights into retail design industry.

Event Recap: Retail Design Institute NY Chapter x AIANY: Design Excellence –Celebrating Retail Design 2020

The Chapter co-hosted its December event with the American Institute of Architects New York to celebrate projects by New York firms which were recognized in the Retail Design Institute’s 49th International Design Competition. Following presentations of Birkenstock, Cadillac House, Innisfree, and KitKat Chocolatory, a robust discussion on design learnings and thoughts.
