Greetings Retail Design Institute Southern California Chapter Members!
We had such a great time last Wednesday, Sep 13, on our block tour of Larchmont Blvd. Thanks for all who came, it was a blast! Several emerging local, national and international brands have been opening in this charming neighborhood enclave in Los Angeles since the pandemic and we were lucky to have been welcomed in to 7 of them to learn about their brand from the staff who run them. Each has a unique brand story but the constant theme for why they decided on Larchmont is the authentic neighborhood community and the walkability. There are so many great stores it was hard to not stop at every single one but we stopped in to hear from the store managers at Rothy's, Beyond Yoga, Topdrawer, Buck Mason, Thirteen Lune, Du/er and Faherty.
Thanks to all who came out including those visiting from Heartland and New England chapters. Just one of the many reasons to join RDI is that you can attend any event, anywhere. Being a member is an asset to all in our industry, no matter where you live.
Special shoutout to Patty Lombard of the Larchmont Buzz for joining the tour and giving us some local insider information on the neighborhood and its history.

HD Buttercup Design Center Tour
Hosted by Coco Republic November 2, 4:00-6:00 pm PT
Coming up in November, we will host a showroom tour and panel discussion at Australia’s leading furniture brand, Coco Republic, that recently opened its Culver City showroom in partnership with HD Buttercup at the Helm’s Bakery District. This will be an evening event with food and refreshments provided.

Announcements
Retail Design Institute Southern California Chapter has a few openings on the board and are looking for a Chapter Secretary as well as a Communications Chair. The Chapter Secretary will be in charge of monthly meeting minutes and our communications and announcements through various platforms as well as being an active board member that participates in quarterly board of directors meetings with the International Office. The Communications Chair will be heading our marketing and PR, managing and maintaining our web and social media presence and collaborating with the Secretary on external/internal communications.
