Happy Chinese New Year, the year of the snake! We've got some fun events in the works and next up don't miss our New Year Celebration on February 27, more on that below. The Retail Design Institute Southwest + Pacific Chapter has been growing and we are expecting quite a few new faces to have a toast with at the Zinc Cafe in downtown Los Angeles. The picture below is from the marvelous Chinese New Year displays at South Coast Plaza. This and so many other shop windows went all out for the occasion.Â

Kick off the New Year with the Retail Design Institute Southwest + Pacific Chapter at the Zinc Cafe in Downtown LA. This will be an opportunity to celebrate 2024 years' achievements and make a toast to the new year and preview what we have in store. We will also be taking suggestions to ideas for new events and priorities for the coming year so come on out and have your voice heard.

Recap of Tori Richard Virtual Presentation
Joshua Feldman, President and CEO of Hawaii apparel brand Tori Richard, gave a fabulous, in-depth presentation of the brand and the opening of its new flagship at the Outrigger Waikiki on Kalakaua . It was fascinating to hear the creation and history of Tori Richard, the resort-wear maker formed in Hawaii in 1956 and the creative process that goes into making their patterns, product and store design. Retail Design Institute at LA Food bank
After the devastating fires in Los Angeles, the Retail Design Institute Southwest + Pacific Chapter wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way. So we made a charitable donation to the Red Cross and participated in the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, to package fresh produce for the hungry. The event was wonderfully organized and we thank the LA Foodbank for all that they do. It was a lot of fun!
